California is home to 181,000 homeless, with over 125,000 of those living in tents and cars. No one should live on the street, and we shouldn’t have to live with dangerous encampments. We can do better.

That's why I support SB 1011, a bipartisan bill requiring government accountability for maintaining public health and safety while ensuring compassion for the unsheltered homeless when clearing dangerous encampments.

SB 1011 would bar encampments near schools, open spaces and major transit stops, while requiring enforcement officers provide encampment residents with information on sleeping alternatives, homeless and mental health services, and shelters in the area having availability.

I urge you to take action to address the homelessness crisis in California by supporting SB 1011. Thank you for your time and consideration.
