Securing the Future of K-12 Career Technical Education
Assembly Bill 1743 would establish ongoing funding for Career Technical Education (CTE) programs in our K-12 schools at $500 million per year.
Assemblymember O’Donnell has received bi-partisan support for this effort from 25 colleagues who have signed on as joint or co-authors. AB 1743 would increase annual funding for the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant program and would also provide $12 million per year for regional technical support through County Offices of Education. CTE prepares students for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies, and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context.
